FC Cincinnati 2-Louisville City FC 1

New league, same result for FC Cincinnati in the US Open Cup. The darlings of the Cup in recent years continued their strong recent run of form in the tournament on Wednesday night, slipping past Louisville City FC 2-1.

Fanendo Adi put Cincy ahead with a goal in the 23rd minute. Louisville quickly tied things up with a strike from Lucky Mkosana in the 30th minute. Los Morados held their own against their Dirty River Derby mates with goalkeeper Chris Hubbard making several key stops. But Cincinnati retained their composure and were rewarded in the 105th minute with a Kekutah Manneh stunner to seal the result.

With the win Cincinnati moves on in Open Cup play. They will next face another old rival from their USL days facing St. Louis FC on Wednesday.
