Toronto FC II 3-North Texas SC 3

It is amazing what can happen in a span of a season. Last year, Toronto FC II struggled to find any sort of form or consistency and always seemed to be catching the worst of breaks. 2019 has been a different case for the junior MLS side with the young Reds finding their rhythm and getting a little bit of luck when they need it most. Despite falling behind three goals early Toronto rallied back to earn a 3-3 draw against North Texas SC at the BMO Training Grounds.

Things didn’t look so rosey at the start of the match for TFCII with Texas striker Ronaldo Damus netting a hat trick within the first half hour of the match (9′, 26′, and 27′). But TFCII never lost their composure picking away at Dallas’ lead just before halftime with a goal from Griffin Dorsey (44′).

In the second half TFCII head coach Michael Rabasca urged his side to continue to press and keep putting the pressure on the Texas backline. It worked with Matthew Srbely cutting their deficit to one with a right-footed shot into the back of the net. Second half substitute found the equalizer in extra-time, slotting home the game-tying goal off of a corner kick from Tsubasa Endoh.

With the win, TFCII improved their record to 5-3-3 on 18 points. They currently sit in third place in USL League One just one point behind South Georgia Tormenta FC.
