Toronto FC II 1 -Atlanta United FC 2 2

There is always something to play for in a soccer match. Pride, for the crest, for the supporters, and sometimes for your teammates. There are all sorts of reason to keep fighting and working even at the end of a season when your side is sitting at the bottom of the standings. Despite featuring two sides at the bottom of the standings Friday night’s match between Toronto FC II and Atlanta United FC 2 featured two sides still willing to work getting a result and something out of this season. While TFC II fought hard to come back Atlanta’s two goals were enough to earn the result.

Lagos Kunga (12′ and 52′) scored twice for Atlanta to push his side ahead 2-0. While Matthew Srbely (90′  +3′)cut the deficit to one with his goal in injury time it was too little, too late for The Reds. The win pushes Atlanta (4-8-13, 20 points)   to within two points of the Richmond Kickers (6-4-17, 22 points) and 14th place in the USL Eastern Conference Standings. As for TFC II (3-3-19,12 points) the loss caps what was a good week for the side, after they defeated Louisville City FC 4-1. But they have won three of their last seven matches and have been competitive in all of their games so things are looking up for the junior Canadian side.
