FC Dallas 2-2 Atlanta United

DALLAS, TX–FC Dallas and Atlanta United played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday night at Toyota Stadium. The Red Hoops remain ninth in the Western Conference table, just a point above Austin FC for the final playoff spot in the West while the Five Stripes are in sixth in the East, ten points clear of 10th place Chicago.

Paul Arriola opened the scoring for the hosts in the fourth minute after receiving a feed from Jesus Ferreira. However, Atlanta equalized just before halftime as Girogos Giakoumakis scored getting on the end of a looping ball from Thiago Almada.

Saba Lobjanidze put Atlanta ahed in the 58th minute with a strike from just inside the area that beat Jimmy Maurer far post. However, that lead would last just four minutes as Bernad Kamungo caught the Atlanta defense napping on a looping ball and was able to put it into an empty net with Brad Guzan off his line.

Both teams were pushing for a win and FCD thought they had a match winner in the 76th minute through Marco Farfan, but VAR chalked it off for offside on Alan Velasco in the buildup.
