FC Dallas 1-2 CF Montreal

FRISCO, TX–Josef Martinez’s first goal for CF Montreal was a match winner as they stunned FC Dallas, 2-1, at Toyota Stadium. The goal came in the 60th minute

Substitute Jules Anthony Vilsaint put CF Montreal ahead in the 20th minute from just inside the area after a nice layoff by Kwado Opoku. Petar Musa equalized for FCD after finishing a tic-tac-toe play after a header from Bernard Kamungo one minute into first half stoppage time. However, at the hour mark, Martinez got on the end of a thru-ball from Matias Coccaro to put the visitors ahead once more.

Jonathan Sirois would make two excellent saves after that to preserve the lead, and eventually the win, one on Musa and a second in the 85th minute on Nkosi Tafari.

FC Dallas next go on the road next Saturday at New York Red Bulls. Kickoff is at 6:30pm CT on Apple TV.
