FC Dallas 1-1 Colorado Rapids

FRISCO, TX–FC Dallas will enter Decision Day next Sunday needing a win at LA Galaxy to advance to the playoffs after a 1-1 draw against already-eliminated Colorado Rapids at Toyota Stadium on Saturday. The match was a makeup game after last week’s postponement due to severe weather. It is FC Dallas’s seventh draw in their last eight league matches.

FCD went a goal down in the 25th minute after Rafael Navarro pounced on a rebound after Cole Bassett’s free kick went off the crossbar. However, Alan Velasco would equalize for the Red Hoops 12 minutes later as his free kick would go directly.

The result leaves FC Dallas in eighth for the moment on 43 points level on points with Portland and San Jose. Portland is ahead with more wins and San Jose is behind in ninth on goal difference. As mentioned before, a win at LA Galaxy on Decision Day (8pm CT, Apple TV) would guarantee passage into the playoffs. Playoffs are also guaranteed if the Sporting Kansas City-Minnesota United match ends in a draw, FC Dallas matches San Jose’s result against Austin, or if FC Dallas gets a better result than Portland’s result against Houston.

A draw will eliminate FC Dallas if there is a winner in the SKC-Minnesota match; and if either San Jose wins at home to Austin or if Portland gets at least a draw at home to Houston. A loss eliminates FC Dallas if San Jose gets at least a draw vs. Austin and if there is a winner in the SKC-Minnesota match. It all happens next Sunday at 8pm CT on Apple TV’s Season Pass.
