Mexico vs Argentina

Saturday November 26, 2022 KO 11:00 AM ET

Lusail Iconic Stadium, Lusail City, Qatar

No turning back for both of these teams in Group C, as they need a win and a draw may not be enough. A loss and probably kiss your chances goodbye. No room for error. No room for losers.

What a shocker for the Argentinian National team losing to underdog Saudi Arabia in their debut. Contrary to Mexico’s near glory against Poland where its keeper rose to the occasion and became the talk about this major event.

However, the odds favor heavily the likes of La Albiceleste as they have the edge over El Tri on the international stage with three wins and just one draw.

Still, nothing is written and anything can happen on Saturday between these two sides looking at any cost to deliver a much-needed win for their cause as well looking forward to the next stages in this competition.

The question is if manager Lionel Scaloni will repeat his lineup a well his 4-4-2 formation against Mexico, as his side delivered with no yellow cards, but surrendering to the push of not-so-underdog Saudis.

Contrary to Mexico, the question lies on Gerardo “Tata” Martino’s side and who will lead his attack as well repeat the 4-3-3 formation he put on in game one against Poland. Still, the memories are fresh of that 4-1 Argentinian win back in 2019.

Alexis Vega and Henry Martin were too sloppy on the offensive attack by lacking definition if not accuracy and most of all lacking ambition. Will Wolves front man Raul Jimenez and Monterrey’s Rogelio Funes Mori be considered in the attack?

In addition, of some of its important players already accumulating yellow cards in Hector Moreno and Jorge Sanchez considered the lead in their defense and another yellow will become a setback for El Tri defense.

In the end, both are in need of a win to move on the next round. A draw won’t be fatal, but in the end, Mexico will close against Saudi Arabia and Argentina with Poland. Somehow, this game will be one to define both sides futures.
