Portland Timbers Briefly

In Gio, we trust, as they state that after the storm calm prevails, this is something Timbers manager can do to turn things around for the best. Despite the team currently having some notable players on the injured list, still, Savarese can work some of his magic.

With Jeremy Ebobisse back and looking hungry to stand out in what could be another premier year, while returns of Blanco and Niezgoda are also imminent.

However, the team head to Pay Pal Park in San Jose, California, on a three-match losing streak. The outcome of a good game will depend on its defensive core as the need to protect the likes of rookie keeper Hunter Sulte is a top priority.

In the end, anything can happen, and the Timbers have been fortunate like last year to capture a couple of wins over the Silicon Valley side, but with a new line of players, this match for sure will be another tough test.

 Probable Lineup:

GK Hunter Sulte, Josecarlos Van Rankin, Larry’s Mabiala, Dario Zuparic, Claudio Bravo; Andy Polo, Eryk Williamson; Dairon Aspirilla, Diego Valeri, Yimmi Chara; Jeremy Ebobisse

San Jose Quakes Briefly

It was a heartbreaking loss for Matias Almeyda and company in midweek against a hardened Seattle Sounders, as the Emerald City side, is playing one amazing football. Still not being alone in the Western Conference as the Quakes are closely tagging along.

As manager Matias Almeyda, is one man that has won several honors as a manager, being one of them a Concacaf Champions Cup in 2018 with Chivas de Guadalajara. Something tells me that the man is looking forward to building a complete contender in the Quakes and deliver some trophies.

So far, the Quakes are in second place behind the Sounders, and these are finally starting to find their winning ways and probably return to their old glory days in the 2000s.

Probable Lineup:

GK James Marcinkowski, Marcos Lopez, Tanner Beason, Florian Jungwirth, Tommy Thompson; Eric Remedi, Jackson Yueill; Carlos Fierro, Javier Lopez, Cristian Espinoza; Cade Cowell

Meetings

October 11, 2020, Portland Timbers 3-0 San Jose Quakes

September 19, 2020, San Jose Quakes 1-6 Portland Timbers

Forecast

Despite the loss in midweek for the Quakes, these will be looking to rebound against the Timbers
