El Tri’s perfect run under Tata Martino continued on Sunday evening after the CONCACAF giants defeated Ecuador 3-2.
Jonathon dos Santos put Mexico ahead with his goal in the 28th minute of the match. Ecuador’s speedy wings gave El Tri issues in the second with goals from Angel Mena (47′) and Eduar Preciado (66′). But Martino’s side showed their resolve, meeting each Ecuadorean goal with one of their own. Luis Montes (63′) and Luis Rodriguez’s (77′) goals proved to be the difference giving the side a much-needed boost ahead of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
