El Tri defensive game shines all ninety minutes

Improved is one ideal moniker to apply to this Mexican National Team. They have played with an all-around confidence and determination in the field. One of the key areas that Mexico shined in was their defense.

For this match Professor Juan Carlos Osorio, knowing of the risks his squad had against dangerous South Korea.  If we are to give total credit to this win is for its defensive game that shined all afternoon long against a belligerent and hungry South Korean armada looking to find any hole in the Mexican defensive set up.

In the end, the high-point of what many seen as a much contested and exciting match was the way the El Tri defensive backfield stepped up and stopped the Koreans attack cold.

Manager Juan Carlos Osorio’s strategies have paid off.

I must state about the immaculate work performed by Professor Osorio at the head of El Tri. So far, the Colombian has instituted discipline and pride in a hard working group that has delivered back-to-back wins. Indeed, he has silenced the fiercest of his critics with facts and with two notable wins considered before this event as impossible! This man is one amazing strategist and has boosted the confidence of many of his player’s to all-time highs.

Javier Hernandez, Carlos Vela, Hirving Lozano and Miguel Layun are the frightful foursome.

The contribution of these four chaps can be summed up in one word: invaluable. With Carlos Vela leading the way with El Tri first goal via a penal in the 23’ minute to open up the scoreboard, then Javier Hernandez once again showing up his scoring fury in the 66’ with a nice assists this time from Hirving Lozano. As you recall in game one against Germany Chicharito’s assist delivered Mexico’s only goal.  Who scored that goal? Lozano. These three alongside Miguel Layun are becoming one fearsome foursome in this World Cup.

My Plus

The harmony, determination and seriousness that is coming from this Mexican National Team has turned heads at this World Cup. I never heard with such security and confidence from its players of the way they would like to go all the way to that coveted seventh match. This group’s harmony and display of great football in the field in this World Cup suddenly has put them in a position of overall favorites to reach the finals.
