Not much has changed for Pumas UNAM who were not only the Apertura league leaders but were also a penalty shootout away from winning the Liga MX title. Pumas fans can expect plenty from their side come the Apertura, it did not lose any key players during the transfer window and were able to add some talented prospects. But with the looming Copa Libertadores anything can happen.
It was clear from their activity during the transfer window that Pumas are looking to compete in both tournaments. It was able to retain its squad that made the final as well as add depth in key positions as it looks into doestic and internationl play. Pumas signed defender Francisco Meza from Tigres UAN, midfielder Mathias Vidangossy from ChiapasFC and midfielder Hibert Ruiz from Monarcas Morelia.
Whether they end up having to make that decision will be a question that won’t be answered until the season begins.
