Colorado Rapids 1-2 Seattle Sounders FC

COMMERCE CITY, CO–Two teams at opposite ends of the Western Conference table met. The Sounders are battling for home field advantage in the playoffs and an outside chance at top seed in the West. Meanwhile, the Rapids appear to be racing Toronto FC for the wooden spoon. The Sounders maintained their mastery over the Rapids with a  2-1 win at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

Leo Chu opened the scoring as he was merely allowed to come into the area and beat Marko Ilic far post. Albert Rusnak then headed in a Cristian Roldan cross from point blank range to double the lead in the 56th minute. Cole Bassett pulled one back ten minutes from time, but it was not enough as the Sounders took the three points and moved into second in the West with LAFC drawing with St. Louis. Meanwhile, the Rapids current sit bottom of the entire league on goal difference with points identical with Toronto FC (who lost at Inter Miami).
