New York City FC (1-1-5, 9th in East) vs. Chicago Fire (2-2-3, 7th in East)

The Chicago Fire begin a three-match road swing at Yankee Stadium against early draw specialists New York City FC. The Fire are coming off their best offensive output of the season in a 4-1 win over Colorado which extended their unbeaten run to four matches. NYCFC finally got in the win column with a 2-0 win at DC United.

It’s been three home matches, three draws so far for the blue portion of New York. Heber had his best game yet for NYCFC and it is hoped they can build some momentum and climb towards the top fo the table.

Both teams do have injury worries coming in. Alexandru Mitrita and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi are question marks for the hosts with ankle injuries while a knee injury makes the Fire’s Aleksandar Katai a question mark.

For both teams coming off vital wins, it’s a chance to build some momentum early in the season and climb up the table. The Fire will hope for a similar attacking performance from last week even though the next three are away from SeatGeek Stadium while NYCFC looks to do the same building off their impressive win against DC United and they have this and the next home game to do it.

Kickoff is at 6:00pm CT on ESPN+ across the nation and the YES Network in New York.
