VANCOUVER, BC–Vancouver spent the first half of the season playing home games at Rio Tinto Stadium, home of Real Salt Lake. On Sunday, the proved the rudest of guests to RSL in their second match back at BC Place with a 4-1 thrashing. This is despite having sacked Marc Dos Santos following their 5-3 defeat at Pacific FC in the Canadian Championship.

Vanni Sartini could not have asked for a better start to his interim stewardship of the Whitecaps as goals from Chicago Red Stars loanee ‘own goal’, Brian White, Ryan Gauld, and Florian Jungwirth lifted the Caps to just within one point of the red line in the Western Conference.
