SEATTLE, WA–Controversial calls continue to dog OL Reign as they played to a 2-2 draw with Racing Louisville at Lumen Field. The controversy came at the hour mark as a Louisville free kick was initially punched away by Reign keeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce, then bouncing off of Bethany Balcer who appeared to clear the ball right on the line, then bouncing off of the crossbar and away from net. However, the officiating crew ruled that the ball had gone over the line for a goal even though an initial look and replays did not clearly show that. A reminder that there is no VAR in the NWSL.
