Inter Miami No Match for New Look F.C. Barcelona

It was hard to tell which team was in mid-season and which one was still in preseason as F.C Barcelona made quick and easy work of MLS side Inter Miami. Six goals from six different players for a Barcelona attack that’s just signed Robert Lewandowski to add to the potent front three.

It was a game that looked to feature a lot of goals early on, but fans would have to wait until the 19th minute when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would break the deadlock. It would be Raphinha who would be credited with the assist after cutting quickly inside.

Unfortunately for Miami goalkeeper Nick Marsman, things would not get any easier as just six minutes later the Brazilian Raphinha would double the score with a first-time volley that struck Marsman then deflected in. It was the second goal in only a six-minute span for the Brazilian.

Barcelona would finish out the first half with their third goal this time coming from the young and talented forward Ansu Fati. He made a great run in between the two Miami center backs and unleash an absolute rocket that no keeper in the world would’ve been able to stop.

After halftime it would be another academy star rising through the ranks as the Spaniard Gavi would make it 4-0 in the 55th minute. It came from a perfectly performed corner routine that saw Gavi be able to run perfectly unto the ball and simply pick where he would blast the shot.

The fifth goal would also be the pick of the bunch as the Dutch international Memphis Depay would put Miami defender Damion Lowe into the spin cycle with an excellent drag back before firing the goal home in the 69th minute. The sixth and final goal would come only a minute later when Ousmane Dembele would go on a cross pitch run gliding past multiple Miami defenders before finally putting this game to rest.

What’s next for Barcelona?

The Spanish giant club will continue their American preseason tour visiting the brand-new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. It’ll be El Clasico as they’ll face Real Madrid on July 23rd at 8:00pm local time. Once their regular season get started manager Xavi will look to build upon the progress made during the last half of last year’s season. The biggest question that remains for Barcelona is whether or not Frenkie De Jong will be on the roster or rocking Red Devil colors come start of the season.

What’s next for Inter Miami?

Inter Miami look to build upon their momentum in MLS play as they will travel to the big apple to play New York City FC. The biggest boost over the last few weeks for Miami has been the presence of Gonzalo Higuain who seems to have found his shooting boots again. Miami will kick off vs NYCFC on July 23rd at 7:00pm.
