The Portland Thorns showed why they are a firm candidate to win the NWSL Challenge Cup again after a great display in the second half of their match up against Angle City FC. The Thorns 3-0 victory puts them on top of the west awaiting the result on the remaining game between OL Reign and San Diego Wave FC. Sophia Smith opened the score in the first half in minute 31, Yazmeen Ryan in minute 53, and a great strike by Morgan Weaver in minute 78, sealing a great win for the Portland Team, that leaves them with a goal average of 5-1, and a great chance of finishing the group in first place.
