Vancouver Whitecaps 2-FC Dallas 1

On Saturday, the Vancouver Whitecaps snapped a four game winless run with an early offensive explosion scoring twice to defeat FC Dallas 2-1.

The Whitecaps attack throughout the 2019 season has been known for their ability to score late in matches. In front of a crowd of 18,309 at BC Place they tried something new: score early. Ali Adnan (30′) and Lucas Venuto (40′) each scored before the half to give the home side the 2-0 lead. Although Dallas did get a goal in the second half off of a late goal from Dom Badji (85′) the Whitecaps defense held firm to get the three points. Goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau made three saves to preserve the result.

For Vancouver the win couldn’t have come at a more perfect time as the Caps will host their derby rivals Toronto FC next Saturday.

On hand to cover the match was Prost photographer Gerrit te Hennepe. You can check out more of his work on our SmugMug page.
