FC Dallas 0-Sporting Kansas City 3

Sporting Kansas City didn’t seal up the top spot in the Western Conference on Sunday but they certainly put the entire league on notice. Facing a dangerous FC Dallas side in the Lone Star State, Peter Vermes’ group showed that they are ready for the playoffs earning the 3-0 win.

While the first 45 minutes was marked with some impressive defensive work by both sides, the second half showed just what SKC’s attack can do. Daniel Salloi (45′), Roger Espinoza (64′), and Johnny Russell (87′) all scored for The Powdered Blues while Tim Melia held down the fort to earn the clean sheet.

With the win, Sporting now holds a two point advantage over LAFC (16-8-9, 57 points) and Dallas (16-8-9, 57 points). LAFC hold the tiebreaker over Dallas based off of Goal Differential (17 to 9). Sporting will host LAFC on Sunday (4:30 PM EST/3: 30 PM CST/1:30 PM PST, ESPN +) while Dallas will travel to Commerce City to take on the Colorado Rapids (4:30 PM EST/3: 30 PM CST/1:30 PM PST, ESPN +).
