After the initial reports that the Argentinian had decided to leave PSG at the end of the season it instantly became the “Messi Sweepstakes”. Offers from the ever growing Saudi Arabian league seemed like early front-runners along with a fairy tale like return to F.C Barcelona but it’s going to be David Beckham’s Inter Miami who seem to have earned the signature of Messi.

The move will put an end to his two years in the French capital, a stint many would consider underwhelming as the expectations were Champions League trophy or bust. In his most recent season, Messi finished with 11 goals between both League One and the Champions League. Though the past season domestically wasn’t a success for Messi on the international level it was the complete opposite as he captained Argentina to a World Cup Final, a tournament that Messi seemed destined to win as every time his country needed him the tiny magician always pulled something out of his hat as he finished second in the golden boot and won Man of the Match in the final.

For Inter Miami the news couldn’t come at a better time as just they’ve just sacked manager Phil Neville and the club now sit dead last in the Eastern Conference Standings and second to last in goals scored. A club who seem in need of a face and direction now seem to have won that and more with an all-time signing of Lionel Messi.
