Sebastian Driussi and Ethan Finlay both finished the game with a brace as Austin FC made quick and easy work of Inter Miami.

It fidn’t take long for Austin to find the lead, In the 23rd minute, Driussi finished off a fantastic team move as he converted Diego Fagundez’s cross with a volley into the bottom left of the net.

A late and unnecessary foul by Inter Miami’s Jean Mota gave Austin a free kick deep in Miami’s half that lead to a Julio Cascante’s leaping header to make it 2-0 in the 26th minute.

At halftime, Inter Miami Manager Phil Neville made two subs, one being Leonardo Campana who was the only real bright spot for Miami as the second half didn’t fair much better for them.

A sloppy give away from the Inter Miami backline saw Driussi net his second of the match after he was able to pounce on the loose ball for what ended up being an easy finish making it 3-0 in the 51st minute

It didn’t take long for Miami to answer though as in the 53rd Gonzalo Higuain picked off a sloppy pass from the host and was able to find Campana who brought it onto his left foot and slotted it home with a powerful shot onto the bottom right.

Inter looked to be finally growing into the game over the next ten minutes until a swift counter attack by Austin saw Alexander Ring cap off his day by finding the head of Ethan Finlay to make it 4-1 in the 64th minute. A goal that VAR took a look at, as it was in question as to whether a touch came off of Urruti Mussa who was in a offside position.

The game saw the end-to-end pace trickle down as the best chances for both teams came from some superb deep lying passes from Higuain, but none came to fruition.

The icing on the cake came for Austin as in the 90th minute as Ethan Finlay was slotted in by Fagundez making it 5-1. Finlay rocketed the shot into the top left of the goal leaving Miami’s GK Diop Degoud absolutely no chance.

Austin FC now move to 2-0-0 on the season and show no signs of slowing down as they broke the record for the most goals scored in the first two games of a MLS campaign with ten. Next week, they travel to Portland as the Timbers will be looking to get their first win of the season.

Inter Miami fall to 0-1-1 and things do not get easier as they will be hosting Los Angeles FC at the DRV PNK Stadium next Saturday at 1:30pm. Miami will still be looking for their first win of this MLS season as they are already to 11th in the Eastern Conference.
