Eryk Williamson has been called up by the U.S. Men’s National Team for a couple of January friendlies as well for training camp. After the friendly against Sporting Kansas City on January 21, Williamson will join the Senior USMNT in Los Angeles, California to begin his training.
As the USMNT will play a couple of friendlies against Serbia on January 25 at Banc of California Stadium and the Colombian National Team on January 28 at Dignity Health Sports Park, he will be facing in this match a couple of his teammates in Santiago Moreno and Juan David Mosquera.
This will be Williamson’s fourth call with the Stars and Stripes including his first start in an 87-minute performance at the 2021 Gold Cup Final when they defeated Mexico by the score of 1-0 on August 1. For the Alexandria, Virginia native, the man has earned a starting spot with the Portland Timbers and been mentioned for a possible move to Europe but injuries have taken a toll of Williamson.
With both U-20 and U-23 USMNT combined Eryk Williamson has tallied four goals in 21 appearances. In his time with the Portland Timbers, Williamson has tallied four goals and 15 assists since joining the Rose City side in 2018.
The man’s all around efforts paid off by becoming an indisputable starter in the defensive midfield with Diego Chara making both a feared one-two combination and been a part of two Western Conference Championships (2018, 2021) in a five-year span.
