Seattle Sounders FC 2-1 Real Salt Lake

Real Salt Lake looked to be the third straight team to snatch a point at Lumen Field following Atlanta United and Austin FC, but an 88th minute penalty from Raul Ruidiaz made sure the Sounders got all three points in a 2-1 win.

Cristian Roldan opened the scoring in the 58th minute to put the Sounders ahead before Albert Rusnak equalized from the spot in the 79th minute after VAR determined that Stefan Frei had tripped Rubio Rubin in the area. VAR would then determine Anderson Julio handled the ball in the box three minutes before time and Ruidiaz would score the deciding spot kick.

The Sounders remain undefeated and top of MLS on 24 points–four points clear of Sporting Kansas City. They will host Vancouver on Saturday while RSL will host Houston on Saturday.
