Philadelphia’s Cory Burke scored early on in the ninth minute (see below photo).  Anthony Fontana corralled a goal kick from Andre Blake and passed to Jamiro Monteiro, who then passed to Burke.    With New York’s keeper, Carlos Coronel coming out from goal, Burke had only to get the right angle from near the end line.  From that point on, betwixt and between counter attacks, seemed content to protect that lead.

The game did get a bit chippy.  Philadelphia’s Leon Flach had an impressive, “out of no where” tackle on New York’s Frankie Amaya, getting all ball.  Amaya was on his feet after the tackle, waited a moment and then fell to ground (see below photo).  Flach unfairly was given a foul.

New York’s Dru Yearwood subbed in for Caden Clark at the seventy-sixth minute, but Clark made use of his limited minutes by being shown yellow twice and being ejected.  Flach softly shoved Omir Fernandez and as a result was shown a yellow card.   Yearwood returned the favor with a hard shove to Flach and and an ensuing yellow.  Unfortunately, it was his second yellow and was ejected from the game (see below photo).
