Houston Dynamo 2-Minnesota United FC 0

The Houston Dynamo snapped a seven-game winless record after beating the Looms 2-0. Mauro Manotas and Christian Ramirez scored one each for the home team to get the three points. In addition, Houston Interim Coach Davy Arnaud got his first win with the team after he replaced Wilmer Cabrera in mid-August.

The Orange were struggling in offense. Normally they create many chances to score, but they have not been very good in capitalizing those opportunities. Also, the defense has been a problem for the Houston team. Winning this match and keeping a clean sheet was important for them.

On the other side, the Minnesota team lost a big opportunity to jump to the second place in the Western Conference and with that solidifying their spot in the MLS Playoffs. They never found their game and were deficient in controlling the Dynamo attacks. In addition, their offense had a poor performance. They missed a key player in Darwin Quintero, which affected the team’s performance.

Now, Houston will try to get some points on the road as they will travel north to face the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday 14th, whereas the United will host Salt Lake City in a match with big playoff implications a day later.
