Spurs’ player drought meets Cardiff’s win drought meets Kane’s goal drought!

Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from midweek’s disappointing defeat to Barcelona with the visit of Cardiff at Wembley on Saturday. Mauricio Pochettino’s task will not be helped by his ever-growing injury list with Dele Alli, Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele, Serge Aurier and Christian Eriksen all certainly out of this weekend’s match. Neil Warnock’s men gladly welcome back winger Junior Hoilett into a team which has only mustered four goals so far this season.

The two previous Premier League meetings between these sides during the 2013/14 season both finished 1-0 to The Lilywhites who will be hoping for a similar result before heading into the international break.

The stats don’t get much better for Cardiff who face a team unbeaten in 37 games against newly-promoted opposition, although they can take encouragement from being the only club out of 27 Harry Kane has failed to score against in the Premier League. Given how easily Kane disposed of the press inspired hoodoo about not scoring in August, that statistic may not last.

Prediction: Neil Warnock suggested in midweek all you need is Lionel Messi to beat Tottenham and they’ll need to be at their very best to get a result at Wembley but they are without a win all season and it’s hard to see another famous Welsh victory at Wembley.

Prediction: Tottenham 2 Cardiff 0
