On Wednesday evening, the Union played to a draw against Colorado after a late start due to thunderstorms.  The Union’s Sergio Santos got the start and scored first in the twenty-sixth minute.  The tireless Jamiro Monteiro poked the ball through to Santos who had clear sailing to shoot just left of Colorado’s keeper, Sam Raben.

The game seemed well in hand for Philadelphia until mid-way through the second half, when the Rapids’ Jonathan Lewis scored at the seventy-second minute through a fatigued Union defense.  There was a quick throw in to Andres Shinyashiki, who promptly crossed to the waiting and open foot of Lewis, and the Union keeper Andre Blake had no chance for a save.

Once again, in the category of statistics, the Union out-performed the Rapids.  One notable exception was in saves, and credit should be given to Raben for five saves from twenty-one crosses and eight corners.
