Thorns final home match of the season entertains, disappoints

With playoff hopes dashed by last week’s FC Kansas City – Washington Spirit scoreless draw, the Thorns sought to go out on a high note in their final home contest of the season.

But, as with most of the 2015 Thorns season, things didn’t go according to plan. Down 2-0 at the half, the Thorns fought back to a 3-2 lead only to lose that lead less than a minute later. It just wasn’t meant to be.
