Providence Park, Portland, Oregon

Portland Timbers Briefly

What a match the Portland Timbers displayed against a hardened RSL! In the end, this match had all the elements of being a very disputed playoff match by the way both sides played.

With the Timbers delivering a much-needed win and one that uplifts this side’s confidence, we are to witness another eventful match, as the Timbers and Sounders meet once again.

With one of the most celebrated of rivalries in all MLS, the Cascadia Derby or the I-5 Challenge, we will see a sold-out Providence Park witnessing another face-to-face between these two titans.

I dare state that Timbers manager Giovanni Savarese will gamble once again with his 4-3-3 formation and almost with most of his notable players making a comeback to the starting lineup or coming on as super subs.

In the end, the defense wins games!

Probable Lineup:

GK Aljaz Ivacic, Josecarlos Van Rankin, Bill Tuiloma, Dario Zuparic, Claudio Bravo; Eryk Williamson, Diego Chara, Diego Valeri; Yimmi Chara, Felipe Mora, Dairon Aspirilla

Seattle Sounders Briefly

Manager Brian Schmetzer is one happy man after seeing his side deliver a big win in the newly formed Leagues Cup, eliminating one of Liga MX’s top-rated teams in Tigres of UANL.

The Sounders will look to continue their successful form since the start of this 2021 season. Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer is aware of what this rivalry week match means for both sides and the importance the Cascadia Cup competition.

Super Sub Nico Lodeiro scored the last goal in that 3-0 rout as the Uruguayan is considered a vital piece in the Sounders attack and so far, absent from the starting eleven.

So far, with the season the Rave Greens are having, they are the one of the favorites to win it all once again this season.

They are very aware that nothing is written!

Probable Lineup:

GK Stefan Cleveland, Shane O’ Neill, Xavier Arreaga, Yeimar; Jimmy Medranda, Joao Paulo, Kelyn Rowe, Alex Roldan; Freddy Montero, Cristian Roldan; Raul Ruidiaz
