Once again, Tom Bogert of the Athletic has announced that the Portland Timbers are building up towards 2024. As this writer has discovered, the Portland Timbers looking to reinforce one of its areas in seeking a couple of net-menders.

The Rose City side is looking forward to adding a couple of goalkeepers to its roster with the near incorporation of Charleston Battery young goalkeeper Trey Muse and Montréal Impact backup James Pantemis.

Muse, 24, made a whooping 33 appearances for the Charleston Battery of the USL, tying the league lead with a total of 12 clean sheets, somehow Charleston will receive a fee for the young keeper.

Pantemis, 26, has played with MLS side C.F. Montreal, making a total of 34 appearances from 2018 to 2026, after his option not picked up by Montréal at the end of the 2023 campaign making only five appearances (two starts) in the regular season.

However, the Portland Timbers are still looking to add more strength to the number one position by making a couple of moves to bring another keeper or two. As for Slovenian Aljaz Ivacic, the man will be traded per his request and in David Bingham’s case the Timbers will make a decision early 2024.
