Red Stars-Reign FC Postponed to Sunday

BRIDGEVIEW, IL–Saturday’s match between the Chicago Red Stars and Reign FC has been postponed due to snow and will be played at noon CT on Sunday. It is the second time in as many years that a Red Stars match has been postponed. Last year, it was because Sky Blue FC had transportation issues.

Stadium staff made every effort to have the match go ahead, and the teams did come out for warmups, but the decision to postpone the match was announced at 6:50pm CT—15 minutes before kickoff–as the snow was forecast to continue thru midnight.

While the snow was forecast well in advance, player safety concerns—especially those who are expected to go to the Women’s World Cup—ultimately won out. Sunday’s forecast is for sun and a high of 51º.
