Rapids Rescue Point against St. Louis

COMMERCE CITY, CO–St. Louis CITY SC looked heading for their fourth away win of the season and pad their lead atop the Western Conference, but a Michael Barrios goal two minutes into second half stoppage time put paid to that and rescued a point for Colorado–who are still looking for their first home win. Rasmus Alm scored City SC’s goal in the 57th minute after being denied minutes earlier by William Yarbrough and Jared Stroud scuffing a sitter in front of goal. However, Diego Rubio’s back heel late sent Barrios on his way and preserved a point for the Rapids.

St. Louis are still top of the Western Conference on goal difference over Seattle. The Rapids remain 12th in the West and host Northern Colorado Hailstorm of USL League One in the US Open Cup on Wednesday. St. Louis will be home to Union Omaha of USL League One on Tuesday.
