Portland outshout Seattle 15-1 and at goal the Timbers had 2 shots versus one from its hosts, but in the end, the Sounders controlled possession 60.8% versus the visitors 39.2%. In the end, both sides had to settle for one point each.

Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei made two saves to post his MLS-leading ninth shutout of the season and the 100th of his career, as the match concluded with a 0-0 final score.

For Portland Timbers (8-6-3, 27 points) keeper Aljaz Ivacic, he made one save, as his team continued their unbeaten streak at Lumen Field to eight matches (5-0-3).

In the 27th minute, following a play when a throw in deep on the right wing, this throw was played inside the area when a couple of Sounder defenders crashed with one another, the Timbers saw a clear opportunity.

That ball fell into the feet of Dairon Aspirilla and with a left foot shot from 15 yards and despite making it through a congested area, this shot became an easy one for Frei to make an easy save after it passed a number of players.

When Seattle had its chance in the 54th minute, defender Yeimar Gomez Andrade got a cross from Nicolas Lodeiro, but in the end became an easy ball for Timber’s keeper Aljaz Ivacic handling the play with such ease.

As both managers starting making their moves in the second half, Schmetzer brought forward Raul Ruidiaz and midfielder Cristian Roldan in the 57th minute, as the Peruvian forward has started his second game on the bench after suffering a hamstring strain as for Roldan first game after suffering a concussion.

This move almost paid off as Roldan started a counter attack and drove to the right end in the 63rd minute and sent a cross to the top of the six-yard box for Leo Chu putting a header that sailed just over the top corner.

In the 79th minute, Dairon Aspirilla took a cross from Evander and with a header toward the net taking a bounce before Frei stopped the play by putting his glove and end the Timbers’ second opportunity.

Overall, in the last matches the Portland Timbers haven’t been able to score and despite that goal from Boli against SKC, this team is on a scoring slump or drought that’s becoming a bit alarming and with looks of a not so tranquil schedule.
