FOXBOROUGH, MA–The New England Revolution have opened up a seven-point lead in the race for the Supporters’ Shield with a 3-2 win over DC United on Wednesday night. They are also now 14 points clear in the East on second-place Nashville.

Paul Arriola’s 10th minute strike was seen and doubled in the second half by Tommy McNamara and Tajon Buchanan to give New England a 2-1 lead. DeJuan Jones added a third for the Revolution despite being a man down after Arnor Traustason was sent off for two yellows. Ramon Abila pulled one back for DC very late in stoppage time, but too late to snatch a point.
