The Portland Timbers fought back to a 2-1 win over their Cascadia rivals, The Seattle Sounders. Timbers would be down 1-0 early on by a goal from Yeimar Gómez in minute 8th, after completing an assist from Alex Roldán. Close to the end of the first half, Portland Timbers winger Dairon Asprilla would equalize after scoring a penalty in minute 41. In the Second half, Portland Timbers midfielder Sebastián Blanco scored the second and final goal after volleying in one touch pass on an open goal, after a one touch pass by Dairon Asprilla, who had drawn the keeper much of the defense to the left side of the goal.

The game had all the intensity expected from the biggest rivalry in MLS, but it came at the expense of precision, it was a gritty win for the Timbers, and much needed 3 points for the home side.
