How can the Portland Timbers clinch a spot to the upcoming 2023 playoffs on Decision Day? The Rose City side is looking forward to a great, last game of the regular season against the Houston Dynamo to be played at Providence Park.
With a win over visiting Houston, the Timbers will clinch an automatic spot. So far, they are seeded in seventh place in the Western Conference, posting a record of 11-12-10 (43 points). Still, there’s a number of scenarios the Portland side can assure a spot for the postseason with results elsewhere.
Like I said, a win for sure will guarantee them an automatic spot, but if you recall Houston did a job back in August over the Timbers back in Houston.
