Philadelphia Union 1- San Jose Earthquakes 1

San Jose showed patience, finding a hole in the Union’s 61% time of possession that allowed Magnus Eriksson to score his MLB first for the Quakes, assisted by Danny Hoesen and Anibal Godoy.  In the second half, the Union’s  Captain Alejandro Bedoya evened the score with an unstoppable header from an assisting cross by Fafa Picault and Borek Dockal.

The Union with its offensive pressure easily outshot San Jose overall 22 to 9.  With an 8 out of 22 shots on goal to overall shots percentage (36%), however, the shooting could have been more precise.  Credit San Jose’s keeper Andrew Tarwell for turning away 7.
