Toronto FC 0- New York Red Bulls 1

It was a tough Canada Day for the 26, 363 who packed BMO Field on Sunday. Sure, there was patriotism, great food, and good friends but the end result on the pitch was not something Toronto FC supporters were looking for on this special day. Thanks to an early goal Toronto FC (4-9-3, 15 points) fell 1-0 to the New York Red Bulls (10-4-2, 32 points).

The Red Bulls came in just the fourth minute when defender Kemar Lawrence connected on a corner kick, his second goal of the season. He delivered a shot that Toronto goalkeeper Alex Bono handled but was unable to prevent from going into the back of the net.

That goal, coupled with eight saves from Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles, proved to be the difference in the match. While New York’s undefeated streak was stretched to three games, Toronto’s winless run was extended to three games.
