Tampa Bay Rowdies 2 -Real Monarchs SLC 0

When Georgi Hristov signed with the Tampa Bay Rowdies in 2013 he was expected to provide some goals. Over the past five seasons he has more than delivered becoming not only a consistent goal-scorer for the side but also a leader for the club. On Saturday night his hard work was rewarded with his 57th goal a strike that not only ensured the win for the Rowdies (4-2-0, 12 points)  over Real Monarchs SLC (4-1-0, 12 points) but put him at the top of the club’s goal-scoring record book.

The Rowdies jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half with a goal from Joe Cole in the 40th minute. They would add an insurance goal in the second half courtesy of Hristov in the 70th minute. With his goal he tied Derek Smethurst for the club’s all-time lead. Goalkeeper Cody Mizell earned the clean sheet, his third on the season, with two saves during the match.

On hand to cover the match was Prost Amerika photographer Nelson Lucindo. Enjoy some of his photos from the match below and make sure to give him a shout out on Twitter.
