NYCFC 4 -Colorado Rapids 0

Why stop at 400 when 500 has such a nice ring to it? That seems to be the thought process of New York City FC’s David Villa. After being honored on Saturday for his prodigious scoring mark, the Spanish international (and World Cup hopeful?) got right back to business, scoring twice in NYCFC’s 4-0 win over the Colorado Rapids.

Villa’s goals came in the 22nd and 74th minute, respectively. They were sandwiched by goals by Ronald Matarrita (49′) and Maxi Moralez (56′). Meanwhile goalkeeper Sean Johnson earned his sides fourth clean sheet of the season.
