NYCFC 2 -San Jose Earthquakes 1

Zlatan, who? While a certain Swedish footballer was making waves in California on Saturday afternoon another was doing some pretty impressive stuff of his own just a little north of Los Angeles. Thanks to a goal and some stellar defending from Anton Tinnerholm NYCFC were able to escape Avaya Stadium with a 2-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes.

San Jose took an early lead thanks to a goal from Yefferson Quintana in the third minute. But NYCFC would coming marching back with Tinnerholm providing the equalizer in the 49th minute off an assist by Maxi Moralez. Moralez would get a goal of his own in the 60th minute giving NYCFC their fourth win on the season and keeping their undefeated mark alive (4-0-1, 13 points). As for the Earthquakes Saturday’s loss extends their winless run to two matches (1-2-0, 3 points).
