Colorado Rapids 3- Columbus Crew 2

It took the Colorado Rapids 12 matches to get their first win of the 2019 season. Thankfully for their supporters it took the side just one match to get their second. The Rapids continued their winning ways on Saturday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park with a 3-2 win over the Columbus Crew.

It wasn’t an easy three points for Colorado as the Crew’s high-powered attack were in form and ready to attack. Columbus tied the match twice thanks to goals from Pedro Santos (28′) and Gyasi Zardes (54′). But the Rapids which has come out of their own shell in the last matches were equally adept at finding the back of the net. Tommy Smith (23′), Jonathan Lewis (45+7′), and Nicolas Mezquida (86′) supplied the goals for the home side.

On hand to cover Saturday’s match was Prost photographer Corbin Elliott. You can check out all of his work from the 2019 season for the Rapids on SmugMug.
