Fire Sidebar: Przybylko Scores Two Big Fire Goals

CHICAGO, IL–Trying to find the right connection and the chemistry with a new team this year, it’s taken a few matches for the Fire to score some goals. Also, Kacper Pryzbylko had to wait for his goals as he scored a pair of them that led Chicago past visiting Sporting Kansas City 3-1 on Saturday at Soldier Field.
Pryzbylko had some chances in earlier matches to start the season, but just couldn’t find the back of the net. His opportunities and to find the back of the net changed in his favor and for the Fire.
“I think in the beginning, you know, when everyone was questioning us like why we weren’t scoring I think, in Miami I take that also on me,” Pryzbylko said.  “We had our chances; we just didn’t finish them off. I think it’s just the beginning of the season and then right now I can see that everything that we are doing you see the connection, the chemistry in the team. And that’s what we’ve been missing, obviously because Shaq at the end of the preseason and Rafa even also like snuck in at the end of the preseason.”
However, over the last couple of matches, the Fire scored a couple of goals in a 2-0 victory at DC United and they found three in their match against Sporting Kanas City.
“Right now, it’s about the chemistry, you know, getting to know each other a little bit more,” Przybylko said. “And the great part is that we play soccer, we play soccer, we try to collect the ball very fast, to create chances, you know, get the space to create the gaps. And that’s what we’re doing at the end of the day. We created some chances at the beginning of the season. Unfortunately, we didn’t finish them off. Now we’re doing it. So, it’s amazing that we are winning right now.”
The Club has put together its best start dating back to 2009 with a couple of scoreless draws followed with a pair of solid performances and scoring 5 goals in the last two matches.
“Well, I think for us right now, if you look on paper, we’re probably not the most flashy team,” Chicago Fire head coach Ezra Hendrickson said. “But the togetherness and the camaraderie on this team, the unity with this team, it’s gonna be hard to beat us. Every man out there is fighting for each other, you know, and that’s good to see. I’ve been on teams where we didn’t have the best team on paper, but on the pitch, you couldn’t beat us, because everyone was just in tune, and everyone just fought for each other. And that’s what I’m seeing with this team.”
In looking ahead, the Fire gets a week off before they will host FC Dallas and that will be another test to see if this team has its chemistry and focus together to keep this early season run going in the right direction.
“Who knows what can happen with this team, but right now I like the way we’re fighting for each other. Good team chemistry is what I can say about this team right now and it’s going to get better. The play is going to get better. But it’s a good start to have that kind of foundation where there’s no agendas. Everybody has the same goal, has the same mindset when we step on the pitch, and that’s going to take us very far.”
The best part for the time being is to enjoy where this team is going compared to past years. At least they have a good direction and being in a position looking for a better season ahead of them.
