Fire Draw Miami, NYCFC, and Nashville in MLS is Back Tourney

Chicago Fire FC will face both first-year MLS teams at the MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando as well as New York City FC. The Fire were drawn into Group A and will face Inter Miami, NYCFC, and Nashville SC. They will not face either Orlando City SC or Philadelphia Union who were also drawn into Group A.

The Fire have never played either Inter Miami or Nashville, though they will reunite with former captain Dax McCarty when they face the latter. Last year, the Fire went 0-1-1 against NYCFC.

Times and dates are to be announced.

Below are the remaining groups. The tournament commences on July 8th.

Group B:  Seattle Sounders FC, FC Dallas, Vancouver Whitecaps, San Jose Earthquakes

Group C:  Toronto FC, New England Revolution, Montreal Impact, DC United

Group D:  Real Salt Lake, Sporting Kansas City, Colorado Rapids, Minnesota United

Group E:  Atlanta United, FC Cincinnati, New York Red Bulls, Columbus Crew SC

Group F:  Los Angeles FC, LA Galaxy, Houston Dynamo, Portland Timbers

The top two teams in each group, plus the four best third-place teams will advance to the knockout stage. The winner of the tournament will earn a place in the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League.
