FC Dallas Player ratings vs Seattle Sounders FC

0
The victory marks only the second time ever that Seattle have scored five or more goals at home in an MLS match, after a 6-2 win over Columbus way back on 8/27/11. They next travel to Providence Park for a massive derby with the Portland Timbers, marking a chance for them to cement the momentum necessary to get their season back on track. 5-0 over one of the best teams in the league was a great way for Sigi Schmid and his men to start the derby week. Seattle were able to sub off Morris, Friberg and Alonso to save them for the big game, even if Dempsey won't be there. Dallas next take on Eastern Conference bottom-dwellers Chicago.

FC Dallas player ratings after their second 5-0 away loss of the season, this time against Seattle Sounders FC.

Chris Seitz – 4.5
Not much Seitz could do about this game. Perhaps could have come out stronger when Harris got beat leading up to the second goal.

Atiba Harris – 3
Completely wrong footed on the ball over the top for the second goal and left Seitz in no-mans-land. Did not step up to close down Joevin Jones on the fourth goal.

Walker Zimmerman – 5.5
Best player on the field for FC Dallas and defended well the whole game.

Aubrey David – 4
Played well for most of the game but lost his marker on the fifth goal.

Maynor Figueroa – 1 – Hand ball to deny a goal scoring opportunity in the first four minutes of the game giving the Sounders a man advantage, a penalty kick and making it very hard to imagine FC Dallas getting anything out of this game. With Oscar Pareja giving first team opportunities to so many players in an important league match, Figueroa let the whole team down and forced Pareja to unrest players.

Ryan Hollingshead – 4
His best performances this season have been on the right side of the field. He had to play on the left after the red card and did not seem like his same dynamic self but played well. Did get beat a few times.

Juan Esteban Ortiz – 2.5 – (subbed out 60′)
Heavy touch 25 yards away from his own goal gave away possession that led to the third goal. Constantly gave up free kicks or lost the ball in important areas of the field. One of his worst playing performances for FC Dallas. He did manage to pester Clint Dempsey into the foul that got Dempsey sent off which is the only reason this score is not lower.

Victor Ulloa – 5
He didn’t do anything amazing, but he also didn’t make terrible decisions and give the ball away too much.

Lizarazo – 3 – (subbed out 45′)
Did not really do much in the first half and could not hold possession or dictate play. Replaced by Michael Barrios at the half.

Tesho Akindele – 4
Had a chance to show what he has to offer up top, but struggled to impose himself there even after regular starters got on the field and the teams were playing even at 10 men.

Colin Bonner – incomplete – (subbed out 26′)
Didn’t really get much of a chance to do anything before being subbed out for Kellyn Acosta.

Substitutes:

Kellyn Acosta – 5.5 – (subbed in 26′)
After he came on the midfield play was much better.

Michael Barrios – 4 – (subbed in 45′)
It seemed like some tired legs and he kept dribbling out of bounds or losing possession.

Fabian Castillo – 4 – (subbed in 60′)
Looked as though he did not want to be on the field. Errant passes and poor touches during his 30 minutes on the field.
