Europena giants Real Madrid and Bayern Munich played for the International Champions Cup in Houston. This game started the preseason matches for the La Liga team, which will try to recover from a disastrous 2018-2019 season where they did not win La Liga, Copa del Rey nor the Champions League.

Bayern Munich on the other hand is in a rebuilding process after players such as Arjen Robben or Frank Ribery left the club last May. The combination of good young talent and some experience players in the roster will help coach Niko Kovac manage this team to and take them to win another Bundesliga title.

The match started well for Los Blancos who wanted to score an early goal. New signee Eden Hazard, who made his debut with his new team, wanted to show off why Zidane’s side hired him. Even though there were some opportunities created by the Madrid team, they were not able to score against a solid Bayern Munich defense that included the spectacular show of goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

However, there was a goal in the first half when Corentin Tolisso opened the scored for the Bavarian team at the 15’ for the 1-0 in at the half.

The second half was dominated by Bayern Munich in part of their talented players, but also because Real Madrid substituted all its players at the half. This made it easy for the German team to score two more goals. One was scored by Robert Lewandowski and the other one was scored by Serge Gnabry. Real Madrid eventually scored off of a free kick via Rodrygo, who is one of the best young Brazilian talents currently in the world.

After the win, Bayern Munich will face AC Milan and Real Madrid will face Arsenal in their next match at the ICC.
