With this World Cup being the last for several players of La Albiceleste, all of their efforts in the Nigeria game are now outdated. We can start pointing fingers and blaming people from left to right, but why! Still this squad showed some fight in the end and obtained its pass to the round of 16 miraculously. As many asked themselves: With their roster and their resources why are Argentina leaving early?

With a talented base of players that made the final roster to compete in Russia. What ever happened to the pride of these capable players that highlight or are paramount to their squads of origin lineups? Is my response correct to say about a serious case of disarray and clash of personalities? I can go forever by lining up questions about this group’s failure to make it pass the round of 16.

Ever since the start of this competition, many gave the full responsibilities of this group to one man. This is Lionel Messi known to be the world’s greatest player. Still this was a group effort and teamwork wins matches. Remember Mario Kempes in 1978 as well Diego Armando Maradona in 1986 won the Jules Rimet Cup with team unity, pride and hard work. This group did not show any of these traits so their destiny was obvious: an abrupt, early exit.

Headlines across Argentina newspapers did not hesitate to comment on their national team failure. This is a time for its federation to reflect and start paying attention to its current crop of young players and develop a plan to bring that lost interest in its players wearing the sky blue and white colors. To wear a shirt and with heart defend it proudly not with a lack of interest as this crop that performed in Russia show its indifference.

These are new times and many squads that used to be your easy are now your nightmare. In the case of France showing up with a constellation of young players in the likes of Kylian Mbappe and veterans like Antoine Griezmann. The French played in unison and complete harmony despite the scoring frenzy and sudden revival the Argentinians had.  Still this squad after the French started their counter with stupid fouls that exposed a weak defensive backfield opening the doors to the French armada.

Now for Argentina there is a need to rebuild and move on with a new man in its helm.  The responsibilities and first order of business for this man will be to start from scratch to rebuild the national team. In addition, of returning their amazing and spectacular football that has characterized Argentina. In this World Cup lacked technique, speed and especially unity.

As they, state back to the drawing board and the federation needs to start their new blueprint to avoid these types of embarrassments.  As another question arises in the next manager to be for the Argentinian National Team of whom will it be?

As I lean towards Atletico Madrid man Diego Simeone, can he accept such a challenge or leave the Madrid entity. After all the man has made the so called other team from Spain’s’ capital as a true fighter and contender.

He is the only candidate that I seriously consider ideal for the job to return that lost winning feeling. But remember this is a group effort and the onus should not fall on just one man but on the whole initial eleven.
