David Beckham wants Inter Miami patience over final DP as Luis Robles is named captain

Inter Miami owner David Beckham is willing to be patient to land the club’s final designated player.

The South Florida club has already landed two DP’s, signing Matias Pellegrini and Rodolfo Pizarro and it was expected a third would be arriving from Europe.

But it seems as though Inter aren’t close to maxing out their designated player count with owner Beckham confirming he and the club will be patient in order to land the right player.

“We’re Miami, so people are always going to talk about the big-name players, what DPs are we going to bring in? We’re more than happy with the squad of players we’ve got,” he said during his visit to South Florida this week.

Luis Robles was named Inter Miami’s first ever club captain this week

“If we do bring another one or two players in before that, then great, but I think we’re looking toward the summer. This is a long-term project.

“We’re going to be here for many, many years to come, so that longevity is an important part for us. I don’t think anyone will be frustrated we don’t have a big-name player for the first game.”

Inter Miami also announced veteran goalkeeper Luis Robles at the club’s first ever club captain this week ahead of Sunday’s opener against LAFC at Banc of California Stadium.
