Will Brazil be returning to the USA in 2016?

Group B

Schedule:  Ecuador (6/4  Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA ), Haiti (6/8  Citrus Bowl, Orlando, FL), and Peru (6/12 Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA)

Head Coach: Dunga

Best previous finish in Copa America:  Champion  (1919, 1922, 1949, 1989, 1997, 1999,  2004 and 2007)

Players to keep an eye on: FWD Hulk (Zenit St. Petersburg), MID Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool), S Gabriel “Gabigol” (Santos).

Outlook:

Brazil arrived in the U.S with a mixed team of new faces as the 19-year-old Gabriel but without its biggest star player, Neymar, who is out of the tournament so he can play in the Summer tournament and the injured Kaka, replaced by Ganso.

With or without Neymar, and in a group with minnows Haiti, Peru, and Ecuador, Brazil is still one of the favorites to win, and a certainty to exit from Group B, to the quarter-finals with Ecuador not far behind.

During the friendly match, last Sunday, 29, against Panama, Dunga, tried a mix of experienced and newbies. And they tried. Just tried. The traditional Brazilian game, the creative, and “charming game” for which Brazil is known was not in the field; Brazilians expected a victory with lots of goals but got only two balls on the net, one with 2 minutes into the game, and other in the 72.’

This Copa America is maybe the chance Dunga has to earn back the support from the Brazilian fans, who have not been happy with the Head Coach after only two wins during the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

Did you know? Gabigol plays for Santos, the same team that Neymar, Robinho, Ganso, and Pele played.
