There may have been more glory than money in representing Cascadia in the recent ConIFA Football World Cup but there may be other benefits beginning to appear for one of the players.

After a successful ConIFA tournament, right winger Max Oldham is on trial with League Two club Swindon Town according to the Swindon Advertiser. The Manager of the Wiltshire club is former Hull City boss Phil Brown.

He told the advertiser:

“I’ve invited Maxwell in despite not knowing too much about the lad. I was going to see him play in the Conifa World Football Cup that was on in London over the summer, but I just missed out on one of the games that was at Barnet.”

“He got player of the tournament and was man of the match of a couple of occasions. He’s willing to come here and show us what he can do.

Oldham was a key part in the Cascadian side which finished sixth scoring 17 goals in six games, always ready to receive possession he created havoc among the tournament’s left backs.

He is currently on the books of Corinthian Casuals and is being joined on trial by three others including former NY Red Bulls and D.C. United winger Lloyd Sam.

The club’s pre-season includes home games against Portsmouth and West Bromwich Albion. Swindon finished 9th in League Two last season. just seven points behind Coventry who were eventually promoted.

Striker Jon Nouble was snapped up by Haringey Borough last week after his last club Thurrock folded.
